“Forwards”
A collection of work in response to being awarded the UWE Lüders Kunststipendium, January-March 2023. Selected pieces were exhibited at Galerie Im Glockenhof, Lüneburg, Germany in October 2024.
This international residency was an opportunity to go “Forwards” both personally and professionally.
“Circles” A series exploring ancient sites: Avebury, Arbor Low, The Nine Ladies Stone Circle, Robin Hood’s Stride, Barbrook.
Composition is key in these “empty” landscapes which focus on the patterns created by such elements as farming, quarrying, walls, fences and stiles. There is a suggestion of human activity despite the absence of figures. Although mostly developed from sketches made in Derbyshire and Warwickshire they are not topographical or intended to be of a specific place; rather, they are evocative of many places the viewer may connect with. A collection of sketches made through visits to the now derelict Walton Mill, Chesterfield, in preparation for an exhibition at Chesterfield Museum. Date to be confirmed.

A series exploring the paradox of how highly invisible people’s individuality becomes when wearing high-vis clothing.
